Bush Industries, Inc., a leading manufacturer of quality, affordable furnishings solutions for work at home, announced today it has reached BIFMA level® 1 certification according to the ANSI / BIFMA e-3-2010 Furniture Sustainability Standard through a third party certifier, NSF International, for the following product lines:

According to BIFMA (the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association) “level® is the multi-attribute, sustainability standard and third-party certification program for the furniture industry. It has been created to deliver the most open and transparent means of evaluating and communicating the environmental and social impacts of furniture products in the built environment.”

“As a U.S. furniture company with our manufacturing operation in Jamestown, NY, we have long been dedicated to community and environmental responsibility. For a number of years, we have had numerous initiatives in place to monitor and continually improve our sustainability practices,” said CEO Jim Garde. “Now, with our increasing focus on the commercial market, we feel the BIFMA level® certification is critical to the success of our BBF (Bush Business Furniture) division and all our channel partners. News of this certification is especially rewarding for our dedicated internal team who undertook the rigorous steps to ensure all the standards were met. In a word, we are delighted.”
